Channing Tatum Finalizes 'Gambit' Deal Despite Exit Reports
Movie

Despite earlier reports of Tatum leaving 'Gambit', the actor has finally sealed a deal with 20th Century Fox to star as the film's titular hero.

AceShowbiz - Much contrary to earlier reports, Channing Tatum has closed a deal to star in the highly anticipated "Gambit (2016)". The 35-year-old actor is on board portraying the titular hero.

Few days ago reports were rampant all over the media that Tatum dropped out the 20th Century Fox film after failing to reach negotiations deal with the film company. It was suggested at that time that the project was in jeopardy due to his leave.

In fact, The Hollywood Reporter reported "such back-and-forth is a normal part of top-level talent dealmaking." The site added, "Tatum's participation hardly was in any real danger because the actor already had invested quite a bit in the superhero part. Tatum has been attached to the movie (loosely then officially) as both actor and producer for a few years."

"Gambit (2016)" is set to hit U.S. theaters on October 7, 2016. Rupert Wyatt has been attached to direct, with Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg are on hand producing. The film's script was written by Josh Zetumer.
