Sherri Shepherd is ready to be back to "The View", almost a year after she signed off from the show. It's reported that she has signed a deal to return to the ABC daytime talk show as a lead contributor for season 19. She reportedly will appear in about 50 episodes. She will lead a group of contributors that also includes Stacey London and Molly Sims among others.

It's believed that Shepherd's return is part of an effort to bring the show back to its glory. The infotainment program has been struggling in ratings in its 18th season, not to mention the many shiftings in the panel since Barbara Walters resigned in summer 2014.

Most recently, Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez departed the show after only a season. To fill the void, Raven Symone, Michelle Collins, Candace Cameron-Bure and Paula Faris have been tapped as permanent co-hosts, joining longtime moderator Whoopi Goldberg.

Shepherd was part of "The View" from 2007 until 2014. She left at the end of season 17 allegedly after failing to agree on contract terms with ABC.
