Josh Helman Returns as William Stryker in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'
Movie

The 'Mad Max: Fury Road' actor will reprise his role as Colonel William Stryker in the sequel to 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'.

AceShowbiz - Fans have already known that Apocalypse will be the main villain in "X-Men: Apocalypse". Besides Apocalypse, the movie will have one more villain as Josh Helman will return as Colonel William Stryker. Helman's return was confirmed by director Bryan Singer's latest post on Instagram.

Singer posted a photo which features Helman posing side by side with Rose Byrne, an actress who portrays Moira MacTaggert in the "X-Men" movies. "Happy to welcome back Josh Helman who happens to be shooting with fellow Aussie Rose Byrne today. #aussieinvasion #rosebyrne #sydney #joshhelman #adelaide #xmenapocalypse #2016 #xmen #XMen15," so read the caption in the photo.

Helman was previously seen in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" in which his character was interrogated by Mystique who posed as an army colonel and subdued him, taking the mutant privates back to America. However, it's unclear how Stryker will factor back into the story. In the comics, Stryker is a religious fanatic and apparently hates mutants. He even tries to kill his wife and mutant son, Jason, as soon as he is born. He is convinced that Satan has a plan to defeat mankind by sending mutants to Earth. Stryker is a member of the group called Purifiers and possesses the forearm of Sentinel Nimrod.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" takes place in the 80s, a decade after "Days of Future Past". The altering of time features a new powerful enemy, Apocalypse, who awakens from his Egyptian tomb. To overcome the conflict Apocalypse causes, the X-Men members have to team up to fight against the enemy. Written by Simon Kinberg, the movie will arrive in U.S. theaters on May 27, 2016.
