Previous news saying that Tilda Swinton was in negotiations to star in Marvel's "Doctor Strange" was indeed true. In recent interview with Screen Crush, the actress confirmed that she would portray The Ancient One in the upcoming movie.

While Swinton was doing press for her forthcoming movie "Trainwreck", she was asked about "Doctor Strange" deal. She said that the deal had been sealed and she would obviously play Dr. Strange's mentor.

She was very excited to star in the movie because basically she is a Marvel fan. "I'm a Marvel fan and I think this particular world that 'Doctor Strange' goes into is really, really, really exciting. I'm really interested as both an actor and a fan to see what's done in this particular world," Swinton said. "The idea of playing The Ancient One is really just too tickling. I can't say no to that!" she added.

Since Swinton mostly stayed out of big-budget blockbuster film, she was asked whether working on these types of movie was a difficult process for her. The actress just implicitly said "no." However, Swinton could not explain about the difference between the character she would play in the movie and the character in the comic books.

"Doctor Strange" will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. Benedict Cumberbatch is on board to play Dr. Strange, while Chiwetel Ejiofor is set to play the villainous Baron Mordo. Directed by Scott Derrickson, the movie is slated for a release on November 4, 2016.
