FX debuted first look at its upcoming series "The Bastard Executioner" from "Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, July 12. The trailer later arrived online following its airing during "The Strain" season 2 premiere.

The video introduces Lee Jones as Wilkin Brattle, a deeply spiritual farmer who turns into a "punisher by trade" with hidden agenda of revenge after witnessing the brutality suffered by those close to him. There's also a look at Stephen Moyer as Milus Corbett who doesn't hesitate to use violence to show his power.

"The Bastard Executioner" tells the story of a warrior knight in King Edward I's charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all.

Sutter, who was in Wales reshooting scenes for the pilot, appeared in the Comic-Con video which also featured behind-the-scenes interviews. He said of the show, "There will be torture, quite a bit of blood and that soft, sensitive side of my you've come to love."

The new drama will debut sometime in September on FX.
