"Supergirl" has found its Maxwell Lord. During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Peter Facinelli was announced to portray the character. "The last time I was here was for Twilight. That was punny!" the actor joked when joining the panel at Hall H.
In the DC Comics Universe, Lord is a shrewd businessman who was very influential in the creation of Justice League International. In one of the comic books, he messes up with Superman's mind sending him to fight Batman and Wonder Woman.
In the upcoming CBS series which is scheduled to debut on October 26, the character is incarnated as a green tech billionaire who enjoys a friendly rivalry with Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) and is fascinated by Supergirl (Melissa Benoist).
"Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I have been fans of Peter for years," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement. "We're beyond thrilled to have him join us on 'Supergirl's first adventures bringing the iconic Maxwell Lord to life."
