Ariana Grande's donut-licking video and "I hate America" remark in the footage became a hot topic shortly after the clip surfaced online earlier this week. The topic was even discussed in Thursday, July 9 episode of "The View" which featured Raven-Symone, Whoopi Goldberg, Nicolle Wallace, Candace Cameron and Rosie Perez.

During the show's "Hot Topics" session, Whoopi started out playing the donut-licking video before she asked her co-hosts' opinion about it. Raven-Symone, who was first to speak out, said that there's nothing wrong with Ariana's comment.

"It's all come out of our mouths once or twice when you're at a fast-food restaurant or something with bagel, cake and chocolate and you're like 'Ugh, America why do you do this to me?' " Raven-Symone said. However, her other co-hosts didn't think so.

Whoopi chimed in, "I never think that." Of the temptation to eat donuts, she noted, "America's not doing this to me. I'm doing this to me."

"Have you been to Paris?" Nicolle quickly added, referring to the city's love of pastries. "But can I just say licking a tray of donuts... I have PMS and licking a tray of donuts is a dream of mine." When Whoopi asked Nicolle if she would buy the donuts she licked, Nicolle said that she's sure Ariana's people "threw money across the counter" because she's a celebrity.

Candace then chimed in and blamed the donut shop for reselling the contaminated donuts after the incident. "They left those donuts out there, and they did re-sell them," she said. "But just leaving unattended food out there, that was a health risk and so disgusting."
