Only three episodes into season 5, "Teen Wolf" is booked for another year. At the show's panel at Comic-Con in San Diego on Thursday, July 9, it was announced that MTV had renewed the show for a 20-episode season 6.

Series creator and executive producer Jeff Davis thanked fans for their support to the show, saying, "As long as you keep watching, we'll probably get to keep making it. So thank you." The good news was also spread via the show's official Twitter which posted the following message, "SEASON 6 IS HAPPENING. I REPEAT. SEASON 6 IS HAPPENING. #TeenWolfSDCC."

Davis was joined by cast members Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Dylan Sprayberry, Cody Christian, Holland Roden and Shelley Hennig at the panel. They debuted a trailer for the rest of season 5 and discussed what's coming next in the currently airing fifth season.

"Something happens in episode 5, in the beginning, that causes a rift between Scott (Posey) and Stiles (O'Brien) and threatens their relationship," Davis revealed. "It's something that Theo (Christian) uses."

Sharing more about the trouble among the pack, Posey chimed in, "Scott feels like he can't handle his own pack. Scott's pack is falling apart around him. He can't figure out what it is and why and I think he is dealing with the idea that somebody can handle the pack or be a better Alpha than he can."

Sprayberry added that "there will be some conflict of Scott and I (Liam)."
