Miranda Lambert Delays Show due to 'Serious Inflammation of Her Vocal Cords'

The country singer's show at the Calgary Stampede, which was supposed to happen on Thursday, July 9, will be rescheduled at a later date.

AceShowbiz - Miranda Lambert was forced to delay her Calgary concert due to an illness. The country superstar announced on Wednesday, July 8 that she needed to postpone the show, which was supposed to take place at the Calgary Stampede on Thursday, due to "serious inflammation of her vocal cords."

Lambert apologized to her fans in a statement posted on the venue's Facebook page. "I'm so sorry that I can't be at Stampede this week, but I'll be back in Calgary just as soon as I can for all of my Stampede fans," she said.

The venue's Chief Operating Officer Paul Rosenberg added, "We understand that this news is disappointing for fans. We will know more about rescheduling the concert later."

Fans are asked to keep their tickets for a new date which has yet to be announced. They should continue to check the Stampede's and Ticketmaster's websites for rescheduling updates.

Following the cancellation, Lambert took to her website to repost the statement and thank fans for their well wishes. "I promise I will do everything to get better quickly!" she wrote.
