The former Disney star sings about a very sexual summer affair on the upbeat and catchy electro/pop track from her upcoming album.

AceShowbiz - Just a day before the song's released officially, Demi Lovato's "Cool for the Summer" surfaced online. The track, unexpectedly hitting the web on Tuesday, June 30, serves as the first offering from the former Disney star's upcoming album.

On the sexy electro/pop jam, apparently inspired by Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl", Lovato gets a little bit naughty as she talks about a very sexual summer affair. "Got a taste for the cherry, I just need to take a bite/ Don't tell your mother, kiss one another, die for each other/ We're cool for the summer," she sings.

"Cool for the Summer" was co-written by hitmakers Max Martin and Savan Kotecha. Lovato has just finished filming its accompanying music video, which according to its preview will see some girls losing their bikini tops.

On Tuesday, she took to Twitter to reveal what else to expect from the upcoming clip. "Well... After a long night of sweat, baby oil, and lots of skin... That's a wrap #CoolForTheSummer," she wrote.

Lovato's new album still has no title and release date, but it's expected to arrive later this year. It will be her first LP since 2013's "Demi" which peaked at No. 3 on Billboard 200 and spawned the hit "Heart Attack".
