'He makes a lot of news. Doesn't have as much influence as, say, Kim Kardashian. She would probably be a better president, in my opinion,' Simmons said of Trump.

AceShowbiz - Russell Simmons and Donald Trump might be good friends, but he seemingly won't vote for his longtime friend in the 2016 presidential election. In fact, the Def Jam founder said that he would rather have Kim Kardashian as president.

"I don't like his politics. I don't think he'd be good for America at all," Simmons told HufffPost Live's Marc Lamont Hill on Thursday, June 18. "He makes a lot of news. Doesn't have as much influence as, say, Kim Kardashian. She would probably be a better president, in my opinion."

Although Simmons is fully aware that Trump is a "good business guy" and "smart," he noted that Trump's "politics are divisive and hurtful." He later elaborated, "Our relationship with the world is already so damaged from the Bush era. We haven't done that much to fix it, that's for sure, and he would be terrible from an international standpoint."

Simmons went on saying he's afraid that Trump's strong background in business would make America's ailing economy worse. "The rich are already taking advantage of everybody else, and we haven't done much to change that," he explained, naming tax code and the corporations that are overrun by government as several examples of the country's current economical issues.

"You don't want a big business guy to be in charge of this country," Simmons concluded his remarks. "You don't want him to be the president because he may support more of [this]."

Trump announced he's running for president of the U.S. on Tuesday during a press conference at Trump Tower. He was later rumored paying $50 for actors to cheer during the announcement.
