The final three Ginger Minj, Pearl and Violet Chachki perform a lip sync number each before RuPaul decides who wins the competition.

AceShowbiz - "RuPaul's Drag Race" has just announced its new winner. The remaining three contestants, Ginger Minj, Pearl and Violet Chachki, were heading to the season 7 finale held at Los Angeles's legendary Orpheum Theater on June 1.

RuPaul gave a final challenge to the finalists. They each had to perform one final lip sync number. Ginger went with "Pray and Slay", Pearl showed her sexy side with "Sleepwalker", while Violet opted for "Too Many Daddies".

Ultimately, Violet was declared the winner and brought home a $100,000 cash prize, a one-year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, and a bejeweled crown and scepter. Season 6 winner Bianca Del Rio crowned the new queen. Also during the finale, Violet released a single titled "Bettie" and its accompanying music video.

Katya Zamolodchikova was named this year's Miss Congeniality and last year's Miss Congeniality BenDeLaCreme showed up to pass the torch. Miley Cyrus was seen among the audience. Past and present queens, including season 3 winner Raja and season 4 winner Sharon Needles, also attended the event.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Violet shares her goal with the new title, "I really would like to be an advocate for LGBT youth or transgender youth, or transgender people in general. I really feel a connection more so to the trans community than the gay community as a really young person. Miley Cyrus just started her organization called Happy Hippy, which has been really amazing."

She continues, "I would love to talk more with people about issues. I feel like now with the whole Bruce Jenner (who recently debuted as Caitlyn Jenner on Vanity Fair's cover) thing, trans issues are becoming more and more relevant and public. There's this controversy about Drag Race with trans issues and queer culture. It's an amazing time to be a queer person, and I'd love to talk more about these issues and less about makeup tips."
