Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will reportedly be involved in a remake of "Big Trouble in Little China". According to TheWrap, the actor is currently in negotiations to star in and produce the new take on John Carpenter's '80s film for 20th Century Fox.
Should he sign on, he'll play Jack Burton, a trucker lured into the seedy, magical underworld in San Francisco's Chinatown. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, the scribes behind "X-Men: First Class", are attached to pen the new version of the film.
The original "Big Trouble in Little China" starred Kurt Russell and Kim Cattrall. It wasn't a commercial success as it only grossed $11 million at the domestic box office, but it went on to earn its place in film history as a cult classic.
The news came shortly after Johnson's "San Andreas" landed atop the domestic box office with more than $53 million. It opened with an impressive $60 million at the foreign box office, bringing its global total to $113 million.
