AceShowbiz - Danny Pino is leaving "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" after four seasons. The actor who plays Nick Amaro, a detective working with Mariska Hargitay's Sgt. Benson, announces his departure from the show after the sixteenth season wrapped up on Wednesday, May 20.

"Thank u @nbcsvu @WolfFilms cast, writers, directors, guest casts, crew, editors for 4 fantastic seasons. Grateful for all the #SVUDieHards," Pino wrote on Twitter. He also retweeted a "#FriendsForLife " picture of him and his on-screen partner, uploaded by Hargitay.

Danny Pino joined the show on season 13 along with Kelli Giddish as new detectives after Christopher Meloni's Elliot Stabler left. In the last episode of the season 15, [SPOILER ALERT!] Amaro was caught in the crossfire during a courtroom shootout that involved Charles Halford's Johnny D., the biological father of Benson's adopted son. He survived the attack but later decided to retire.

Benson's parting words to Amaro: "I grew more in the last four years with you than I did in the 12 years I was with [Stabler]. That relationship, whatever it was, didn't allow for anything else. But with you, with your support, I have a family. You helped me grow."
