TV

The actor who plays Stavros Sifter in the first season will not return to the Patricia Arquette-starring show due to creative reasons.

Peter MacNicol is leaving "CSI: Cyber". The actor who played Stavros Sifter, a supervisor of Patricia Arquette's Avery Ryan, in the first season will not reprise his role when the show returns for the sophomore run. Deadline reports his exit was strictly creative.

Instead, "Cyber" will welcome Ted Danson, the current star of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation". Danson is expected to relocate to the spinoff and bring his character, D.B. Russell, to the new show when CBS concludes the mothership show this fall.

"CSI" was recently confirmed to pull the final curtain with a two-hour finale. The original stars William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger are set to return to bid the long-running procedural series goodbye after it ran for 15 seasons. The finale will air on September 27.
