Original star John Stamos serves as a producer and is expected to make appearance. Candace Cameron will return as D.J. Tanner-Fuller. "It's definitely a fresh take," she said on "Today" show. "We're not doing the old show, it's not a reunion. It's a spin-off show."

"It revolves around my character, D.J., who now has three kids but is widowed," she explained. "She asks her best friend and [her sister] Stephanie [Jodie Sweetin] to come help her raise her kids."
