After the British musician explained to West that 'Let It Be' was written after his late mom came to him in a dream, the rapper said he wanted to write a song with his own deceased mother Donda West.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West's "Only One" was inspired by The Beatles' "Let It Be", said Paul McCartney. In a chat with The Sun, the remaining member of the British group revealed how the classic influenced the rapper's track, which was written for 'Ye's daughter North West from the perspective of his late mother Donda West.

"We sat around and talked an awful lot just to break the ice. One of the stories I told him was about how I happened to have written 'Let It Be'," McCartney recalled and went on explaining that the Beatles song was written after he lost his own mother.

"My mum came to me in a dream when she'd died years previously. I was in a bit of a state - it was the Sixties and I was overdoing it. In the dream she said, 'Don't worry it's all going to be fine, just let it be.' And I woke up and thought, 'Woah' and wrote the song," he continued. "[West] said, 'I'm going to write a song with my mum.' So then I sat down at the piano."

Macca also told The Sun that he and Kanye used a similar process that he and fellow The Beatles member John Lennon used when they wrote songs for the band together. "When I wrote with John, he would sit down with a guitar. I would sit down. We'd ping-pong till we had a song," he said. "[Working with West] was like that."

"Only One" is slated to appear on West's new album, which he has just retitled to "SWISH". McCartney has also worked with Yeezy on Rihanna's "FourFiveSeconds" from her highly-anticipated eighth studio installment.
