Angela Bassett is added to the growing list of returning cast for "American Horror Story: Hotel". The Emmy and Oscar-nominated actress has signed up to star in the fifth installment of the horror anthology series.

Series co-creator Ryan Murphy announced the news on Twitter. "In October, Angela Bassett will be making lots of trouble with Lady Gaga in the ballroom and elsewhere. #ahshotel," he wrote on Thursday, April 30.

Bassett has starred in two previous installments of "AHS", which are "Coven" and "Freak Show". She earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her role as Marie Laveau on "Coven".

Other stars returning for the fifth season of "AHS" include Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny and Matthew Bomer.

Another TV show from Murphy is also adding an actress to its cast line-up. "Furious 7" star Jordana Brewster is tapped to portray Denise Brown, the sister of the slain Nicole Brown, on "American Crime Story".

The first installment titled "The People v. O.J. Simpson" will focus on the 1995 sensational murder trial that involved the football star. Cuba Gooding Jr. is cast as Simpson, with "AHS" alum Connie Britton, John Travolta, David Schwimmer, Sarah Paulson and Courtney B. Vance taking other roles.

Production on the upcoming true-crime anthology series will begin next month in L.A. No premiere date is set for the show just yet.
