Hulu has reportedly struck a multi-million deal to nab the SVOD rights to "Seinfeld". The streaming site allegedly agreed to pay $700,000 per episode of the 1980s-1990s sitcom, or nearly $180 million for all 180 episodes of the show.

Hulu and Sony Pictures Television, which has the distribution rights for reruns of the comedy series, have not officially announced the deal. While terms of the deal are not disclosed, it's said that the profits will be split by distributor Sony TV, Time Warner's Castle Rock production company and "Seinfeld" profit participants, including star/co-creator Jerry Seinfeld and co-creator Larry David.

According to Wall Street Journal, Amazon.com Inc. and Yahoo were among other bidders for streaming rights to the popular sitcom. Netflix was reportedly also interested in acquiring streaming rights to the show, but later dropped its pursuit and struck a deal for "Friends" streaming rights instead.
