Howard the Duck may get a movie makeover from Marvel. George Lucas ignites hopes for a new "Howard the Duck" movie after the comment he made during a discussion moderated by Stephen Colbert about Hollywood industry at Tribeca Film Festival.

The worst-reviewed movie could "float up to the surface of the lake, and then they become cult classics. ... It means you made an interesting movie or a weird movie, and a small group of people love it," he said as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

"Even Howard the Duck is a cult classic," he added to applause from audience. "I have a feeling that Marvel's gonna redo it because of the technology they have today."

Howard the Duck was first turned into movie by Lucasfilm in 1986. The character was later shown in a post-credits scene of "Guardians of the Galaxy" as one of the Collector's exhibits.
