Cody Simpson's new album has an official release date. It's announced on Wednesday, April 15 that the Australian heartthrob's upcoming project called "Free" would finally arrive on June 23 via Coast House Records/Banana Beat Records.

This marks Simpson's first album since he departed Atlantic Records and decided to work as an independent artist. Already available for pre-order on iTunes, the LP produced by Cisco Adler will feature 14 new songs including the previously-released "New Problems", "Flowers" and "Thotful".

"Cody is an artist who was raised in the pop world with a deep desire to find his musical soul," Adler said in a statement released on Wednesday, April 15. "As a producer you look for that untapped talent. His evolution has been a natural one because it's his ultimate truth... a journey to set his soul free. I believe when we met and set out to make this music we did just that."

In related news, Simpson recently performed a cover of Rihanna's "FourFiveSeconds" featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney during his visit to the SiriusXM studios. Donning a black hat teamed with a simple white T-shirt, the 18-year-old star played his acoustic guitar while singing the hit.
