Madonna is the latest singer hired to lead Jimmy Fallon's band for a performance using classroom instruments. Following in the footsteps of Mariah Carey, Idina Menzel and One Direction among others, the 56-year-old diva was joined by the talk show host and The Roots for a fun rendition of her 1983 hit "Holiday".
Madge, wearing glasses and a black outfit completed with golden chains, served as the lead vocalist as she sang while playing the cowbell. Fallon and the members of The Roots, who all paired their shades with Hawaiian shirts, backed her with various instruments including a drum, a keyboard and a rainbow-colored xylophone. Madonna finished the song by expertly blowing a golden whistle.
The video of the performance aired when Madonna made an appearance in the Thursday night, April 9 episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon". The singer is currently promoting her new album "Rebel Heart", which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard 200.
