The blues legend was rushed to a hospital in Las Vegas reportedly because of dehydration related to his diabetes.

AceShowbiz - B.B. King's representative tells TMZ that the 89-year-old King of Blues is hospitalized at a medical center near his home in Las Vegas. King was rushed to the hospital over the weekend of April 5 reportedly because of an emergency related to his diabetes. His daughter Claudette, however, says he "is much better."

A source says that King has suffered from the Diabetes type II for over two decades. The "Rock Me Baby" singer was once diagnosed with dehydration and exhaustion while he performed in a concert last year. He was supposed to have 70 concerts in 2014 but was forced to cancel the eight remaining concerts due to his health problem.

Last April, the Grammy Award winner was heckled at a concert at St. Louis' Peabody Opera House after he rambled onstage and even showed odd behavior. Days later, he apologized and admitted that "the combination of the rigors of the very long drive [to the venue] and high blood sugar due to his medication error resulted in a performance that did not match Mr. King's usual standard of excellence."

King has remained active while living with diabetes, and he's even joined the fight against the disease in the past by becoming the spokesperson for the LifeScan OneTouch Ultra blood glucose meter.
