The network has reportedly ordered a pilot presentation for the 'Muppet Show' revival which will be filmed next week and the project could go straight to series.

AceShowbiz - The stage is being set up for "The Muppets Show". Various sites report that ABC is developing a reboot of the variety series with "The Big Bang Theory" co-creator Bill Prady co-writing and exec-producing.
The network has ordered a pilot presentation for the potential new series and it will be filmed next week in Los Angeles. Randall Einhorn ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", "Nurse Jackie") is on board to direct the pilot presentation and will also serve as executive producer along with Bob Kushell ("Anger Management") and Bill Barretta, who has been working on various The Muppets installments.
The pilot presentation will likely be unspooled at May's upfront presentation. Tentatively titled "Muppets 2015", it is eyed as a straight-to-series variety show.
Details of the project are still kept under wraps, but a logline obtained by TVLine reads, "The Muppets excitedly gather at ABC for a meeting about the new Muppet Show. However, the show will not move forward unless Miss Piggy signs on."
The original Muppet characters, created by Jim Henson, appeared on "Sam and Friends" from 1955-61. They later got their own series "The Muppet Show" which aired from 1976-81. The last TV series featuring the characters was "Muppets Tonight" which launched in 1996, but the show only lasted for two seasons on ABC.
