AceShowbiz - %cKatie Couric% is shopping around a new show that will give a comedic behind-the-scenes look at morning news show business. According to Entertainment Weekly, the former NBC presenter is pitching the show to Showtime, HBO, Amazon, AMC, and Netflix with %cMichelle Pfeiffer% attached to star as an anchor.
The story won't be completely autobiographical, but Couric's experience as a "Today" anchor will help keep it honest. "Murphy Brown" creator Diane English will serve as a writer, producer, and showrunner, while Eric and Kim Tannenbaum ("Two and a Half Men") will be involved as executive producers.
In related news, Katie Couric fooled %cJames Corden% when she came to visit his "Late Late Show" recently. James rushed to lend a hand and seemed to be genuinely panicked after her look-a-like took a tumble and toppled down a flight of stairs. "Up here, James!" she said while emerging unharmed.
