The upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" is welcoming Stephen Amell into its already on-board cast. The 33-year-old "Arrow" actor has been signed to star in the film as Megan Fox's April O'Neil's love interest.
Variety was first to report the news. According to the outlet, Amell's character named Casey Jones is "a loner who becomes an ally of the turtles." Competing with a half-dozen actors for the part, Amell won it thanks to his chemistry with Fox that led the studio to eventually give the role to him.
Production on "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" has been slated to begin next month in New York City with David Green on board directing and Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller as producers. The superhero-action-fantasy flick is slated for June 3, 2016 release date. Other details of the film, including its story line, are still kept under wraps.
