'Key and Peele' Sketch 'Substitute Teacher' to Be Turned Into Movie

The shows' two stars are reprising their roles as Mr. Garvey and his rival, repsectively, in the film based on the popular sketch.

AceShowbiz - "Key & Peele" is heading to the big screen. As reported by Deadline, Paramount Pictures is currently developing a feature film based on the popular sketch "Substitute Teacher" from the Comedy Central show.

The film, also titled "Substitute Teacher", will see Keegan-Michael Key reprising his role as Mr. Garvey, an inner-city substitute teacher who has trouble adjusting to a classroom full of middle-class white students. His partner Jordan Peele is also attached to portray a rival teacher.

Rich Talarico and Alex Ruben, the producers of "Key & Peele", have been hired to pen the script. Key and Peele will produce alongside 21 Laps' Dan Levine and Shawn Levy, and Principato Young Entertainment's Peter Principato, Paul Young and Joel Zadak. Will Rack is overseeing for 21 Laps.

There's still no word on when the movie will be released in the U.S. Meanwhile, "Key & Peele" is returning for its fifth season in July.
