Currently developing his new movie, which has been dubbed by many as "Alien 5", Neill Blomkamp has shared some of its details. In an interview with Empire magazine, he boldly stated that his feature film would not "tread on the toes" of Ridley Scott's upcoming "Prometheus" sequel which is also in development.

"I changed the one thing [Scott] felt was bumping 'Prometheus' a little bit," Blomkamp was quoted as revealing. "One thing that makes me feel good about it is that Ridley is producing it. He likes the idea of what I want to make."

When being asked about rampant talks of his movie to be called "Alien 5", Blompkamp jokingly replied that it could be called "Alien 3 (no, really)." He, however, was quick to add, "I sent the title I wanted to Ridley. It's kinda quite bold, but it gives away too much if I say the title. But in the event that it doesn't work, I'm dead in the water..."

In further interview with the outlet, Blomkamp's wife and frequent collaborator Terri Tatchell talked about the reason that prompted him to finally work on the film as his next project.

Ridley Scott is directing "Prometheus 2" from a screenplay by Michael Green and Jack Paglen. The 20th Century Fox's film is having original stars Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender reprising their roles as Elizabeth Shaw and David respectively. The film is set to be released on March 4, 2016 in the U.S.

As for Neill Blomkamp, he is on hand writing and directing the untitled new Alien movie with Sigourney Weaver expected to return. It is currently planned to be released in 2017.
