AceShowbiz - Actress-singer Liza Minnelli has checked into rehab facility, reportedly for alcohol abuse. The legendary star is said to be getting treatment at an undisclosed rehab center in Malibu and has been making "excellent progress" during her several-days stay.
Minnelli's representative Scott Gorenstein has confirmed her rehab stay, saying in a statement issued to Just Jared, "Liza Minnelli has valiantly battled substance abuse over the years and whenever she has needed to seek treatment she has done so. She is currently making excellent progress at an undisclosed facility." No official information was shared though on the main cause that ignited her treatment.
Minelli, 69, was no stranger to rehab treatments. She has been checking into facilities multiple times and her main issue was alcohol abuse. Her most recent rehab stay was in 2004. Her famous mother, the late Judy Garland, also battled addiction for most of her life before passing away in 1969 for "an incautious self-overdosage" of barbiturates.
