AceShowbiz - Lucas Book announced on Tuesday, March 17 plans to release "Star Wars: Aftermath" novel later this year prior to the theatrical release of the big screen feature "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". The tome was said to be the first "book in a trilogy that begins to bridge the 'Star Wars' timeline between 'Return of the Jedi' and 'The Force Awakens'."

Judging from the tagline written on the book's cover, "Star Wars: Aftermath" will likely give details of what happened after the Battle of Endor in "Return of the Jedi". Readers, as claimed by StarWars.com "will be introduced to a sweeping new cast of characters, along with a fan favorite from the films." "The second Death Star has been destroyed. Rumors are flying that the Emperor and his enforcer, Darth Vader, are dead. A new government is forming to replace the Empire. But the galaxy is a big place, and the fallout of this cataclysm will affect different worlds in different ways," so read the official plot synopsis of "Star Wars: Aftermath".
