The actress-comedienne says in a tweet she quits the show because she thinks it is too mean-spirited.

AceShowbiz - It was another major loss for "Fashion Police" when Kathy Griffin announced on Thursday, March 12 that she's quitting the reality show. Not mentioning Giuliana Rancic's offensive joke about Zendaya Coleman's Oscars look, she simply implied that her reason to exit the show was because it's too mean spirited.

In a post on her Twitter, the actress-comedienne opened up about what prompted her to quit "Fashion Police". "I thought I could bring my brand of humor to Fashion Police so that beautiful people in beautiful dresses could be teased when appropriate," so read part of her tweet.

"I do not want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference," Griffin continued explaining. She then added, "My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT. There's plenty to make fun of in pop culture without bringing people's bodies into it."

Griffin's exit from "Fashion Police" came in the wake of Kelly Osbourne's announcement to leave the show after serving as its co-host for 5 years. Kelly announced her exit late last month following the much talked about Giuliana Rancic's racist comment on Zendaya's dreadlocks. As for Griffin, she was booked as its host in early December last year to replace the late Joan Rivers.
