A third "Tron" film is in the work with shooting set to be kicked off on October 5. Vancity Buzz broke the news that Walt Disney Pictures had planned to shoot the flick in Vancouver.
Garrett Hedlund will be returning to the cast. In the 2010 "Tron Legacy", the hunk portrayed the role of Samuel "Sam" Flynn, "the son of the 1982 film's original character Kevin Flynn (played by Jeff Bridges) who became stuck in the Grid's digital world for two decades." No other cast members have been named by far. Meanwhile, Joseph Kosinski might be back to direct the third installment, but there is nothing official just yet until Disney addresses those matters.
Following the commercial success of "Tron Legacy", there were reports that a sequel was on the fast track. The third feature is expected to be released soon to meet fans' curiosity and would at least repeat the success of its predecessors.
