Shania Twain is back on the road for a farewell tour. "I'm finally, after 11 years, going back on tour," she told Robin Roberts on "Good Morning America". "It's been a long time." She added, "This is going to be a big tour for me because it's going to be my last. This is my last tour. I'm going to make the most of it. Let's put it that way."

The singer last hit the road in 2004 to support her 2002 album "Up". She later took a hiatus due to vocal issues before returning to live performing by taking a residency show at Caesars Palace. "I look to others for my strength. Strength is within but I draw inspiration from others' suffering. I look for the courage in others and then I find mine," she said. "The inspiration comes from everybody around me."

Dubbed Rock This Country, the upcoming tour which is scheduled to start June 5 in Seattle will also be a "celebration" after Twain wrapped up her two-year Las Vegas residency. "I feel like I'm ready to hang my hat up in that regard. I just really want to go out with a bang," she said.

"I feel that Las Vegas, the show, was a huge mountain to climb for me. I not only got through it, but I enjoyed it," she continued. "I didn't want to take part of the show on the road, I wanted to take an entirely new show that was custom-made for touring."

The roadshow is expected to be followed by a new album as she spilled, "I'm working on the new record as we speak. I'm on the microphone every day recording. That will be coming up after the tour. I want to enjoy that party and then I'll get back to the record." She added, "I want it to come out when I'm 50, so I'm going to make it happen."

The singer who will celebrate her birthday on August 28 also joked, "I should just do 50 because I'm 50 this year," referring to the tour's 48 dates. Canadian musician Wes Mack will serve as her opening act from June 5 to 28. Gavin DeGraw is set to fill the slot for the remainder of the tour. Tickets will go on sale for the public staring Friday, March 13.
