Birthday lady Drew Barrymore sure knows how to have some fun, by hitting a tropical beach. The film star and mother of two children, who turned 40 years old on Sunday, February 22, spent her big day soaking up the sun on a beach with the companion of her close friends and family.
Sharing her birthday bliss, Barrymore posted a picture on Instagram. The shot showed her wearing no make-up and rocking wet hair. She closed her eyes as she raised her face to the sun. "#forty," so she captioned the pic.
Drew Barrymore admitted in recent interview with the "Today" show that she would be taking less acting jobs as her children are growing up. "It's hard to be present when you wake up before them and come home after they've gone to bed," she explained. "That's just not the way I want to have this journey with my kids at this point in their life. But maybe when they're older, I will feel differently."
When being asked on turning 40 years old, she replied, "I'm so relieved to be 40. I've already started saying I'm 40 and my husband's like, 'Honey, you're still 39. Why are you saying you're 40?'... I'm just so excited! It feels good. It feels right."
Drew Barrymore and current husband, art consultant Will Kopelman, have been married since June 2012. The couple's first daughter Olive Barrymore was born in September the same year, while their second daughter Frankie Barrymore wsa born in April last year.
