Vanilla Ice has been released from police custody after being busted for breaking into an abandoned house and stealing furniture. He was released from the Palm Beach County jail Wednesday night, February 18 on a $6,000 bond.

"It's just blown out of proportion," the rapper told WPBF as he was hounded by reporters after emerging from the jail. "I wish you guys would focus on the good things I've done."

Vanilla Ice was accused of stealing from the vacant house next to the one he was renovating for DIY Network's show "The Vanilla Ice Project". The stolen items which included a pool heater and bicycles have "since been returned to its rightful owner."

"Just two weeks ago, they came in through the back," said real estate broker Jim Lovley. "They busted through this gate, took a shovel and got into the garage, just broke open the door."

The star whose real name is Robert Matthew Van Winkle was charged with burglary residence and grand theft. In the wake of the debacle, DIY Network said, "DIY Network has been made aware of this situation and is currently looking into the matter."

The rapper denied the incident was part of the show. "I wish it was," he said. "There's nothing fun about this. I wish everybody all the best, and maybe some of the good news will travel this fast in the future." His co-star Wes Kain added, "It's a misunderstanding. There were some items in question, but they've been located, and everything is OK."
