Daniel Cudmore is not playing Colossus in the upcoming "Deadpool" movie. Cudmore who plays Colossus a.k.a. Piotr Rasputin in "X-Men 2", "X-Men: The Last Stand" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" took to Twitter on Tuesday, February 17 to share the news.

"Thanks everyone for all the support for me 2 reprise the role of #Colossus in #Deadpool but unfortunately it won't be happening for me," he told his followers. "I've had a blast playing such an awesome character over the years! #Deadpool will be kick-ass with #TimMiller and @VancityReynolds #BestFans."

Last week, THR reported that Colossus would be featured in the movie starring Ryan Reynolds. Gina Carano has also joined the cast as Angel Dust. TheWrap's Jeff Sneider said in a Twitter post that T.J. Miller would play "Simon" and Ed Skrein was expected to portray "Ridge".

The two codenames emerged in a casting call on Monday. Other names mentioned were Shirlie who is an African American in her late 60s to early 80s and Lindsay who has "attractive and worldly" appearance.

"Deadpool" is directed by Tim Miller and will start production in March. The movie will hit theaters Stateside on February 12, 2016.
