The Seattle native who was accused of murdering her roommate while studying abroad is taking her relationship with her boyfriend to the next level.

Amanda Knox has some celebrating to do amid her legal woes surrounding the murder of her British roommate Meredith Kercher in Italy in 2007. The Seattle native who has become the subject of numerous documentaries is set to marry musician Colin Sutherland.
According to Seattle Times, 27-year-old Knox got engaged to Sutherland last week. They have known each other since middle school and he wrote to her while she was in Italian prison, but they only started dating after she split from Seattle musician James Terrano last year.
Amanda Knox, along with then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, was accused of taking part in Kercher's murder. Her conviction was overturned in a 2011 appeal and she was freed after four years in jail. However, her guilty verdict was reinstated last year in Italy's upper court.
She remains in the United States. She received a bachelor's degree in creative writing at the University of Washington last year and is now working as a journalist in Seattle.
