The transgender inmate on the Netflix hit series will tackle a transgender role again, playing an attorney in the pilot penned by 'Grey's Anatomy' writers.

AceShowbiz - Laverne Cox has landed a lead role on CBS legal drama "Doubt". The actress best known for her role as a transgender inmate on Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black" will again take on a transgender role in the pilot which is up for consideration for the upcoming 2015-2016 schedule.

Her character is an attorney described as "competitive as she is compassionate. She's fierce, funny and the fact that she's experienced injustice first hand makes her fight all the harder for her clients." She will get romantically involved with a client who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.

Cox got an Emmy nomination for her role on "Orange Is the New Black". On Wednesday shortly before her casting on "Doubt" broke out, she tweeted, "I am so grateful for the universe's plan for me and the amazing people in my life who support me and that plan. Thank you so much."

"Grey's Anatomy" alums Tony Phelan and Joan Rater will pen the script for the new TV project.
