AceShowbiz - Having had a number of film features in the works, Robert Pattinson is adding one more to his resume as he has just signed on to star in upcoming thriller "Brimstone". The London-born film star will be on board portraying "an outlaw who has a crucial influence on this tale of retribution," Variety has reported. Also being recruited to join the film's cast is "Game of Thrones" star Carice van Houten, whose part is still being kept under wraps.
Both Pattinson and Houten are joining Mia Wasikowska and Guy Pearce. As for Wasikowska, she is set to play Liz, a young 19th century woman who is running away from her past. Her character is then pursued by Pearce's diabolical Preacher.
Production on "Brimstone" is slated to be kicked off in May later this year. The movie was written and slated to be directed by Martin Koolhoven, with Embankment selling it at the European Film Market in Berlin. "Martin directs a highly emotional, gripping and unique story of a mesmerizing woman who battles the vengeance of a zealot," Embankment's founder Tim Haslam said in a statement.
