AceShowbiz - Shakira was discharged from hospital just four days after giving birth to her second son with Gerard Pique, Sasha Pique Mebarak. The 38-year-old singer was all smiles when she was picked up by Gerard on Monday, February 2. That day, the pair also celebrated their joint birthday.
In some photos obtained by Mail Online, the couple was seen leaving the hospital in a white car driven by Gerard. Shakira wore a checkered blue-and-black coat and a black scarf. The "Can't Remember to Forget You" singer completed her look with black sunglasses. Gerard, meanwhile, donned a black long-sleeved top.
According to the site, Shakira and Gerard reserved an entire floor of the Hospital Quiron Teknon in Barcelona for Sasha's birth. The "Whenever, Wherever" hitmaker underwent a scheduled Caesarean section performed by the same doctor who helped the birth of their first son Milan.
Shakira announced the arrival of her second baby in a statement posted on Facebook on Friday, January 30. The statement read, "We are happy to announce the birth of Sasha Pique Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Pique, born January 29 at 9:54pm, in Barcelona."
"The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means 'defender of mankind' and 'warrior,' " the statement added, "The hospital confirmed that both mother and child are in excellent health."
