The Alphabet also gives a pilot order for a true story-inspired drama called 'Broad Squad' and a Chevy Chase-starring comedy.

AceShowbiz - ABC orders a pilot for "The Catch" from Shondaland duo Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers and "Broad Squad" from Fake Empire's Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz. The Alphabet also gives a pilot pickup for an untitled comedy from Dan Savage and another comedy called "Chev & Bev".

Penned by Written by Jennifer Schur ("Hannibal"), "The Catch" follows a gutsy female forensic accountant who exposes fraud for a living and has finally found fulfillment both at work and in love until a case comes along that threatens to turn her world upside down.

"Broad Squad" is written by Bess Wohl ("Flightplan"). The drama series is inspired by true stories and focuses on the first four women to graduate from Boston's Police Academy in 1978.

Meanwhile, the Dan Savage comedy is based on the LGBT activist's life. The semi-autobiographical series follows a picture-perfect family that is turned upside down when the youngest son comes out of the closet.

"Chev & Bev" stars Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo. The single-camera comedy centers on two baby boomers who are fun, relevant and living a selfish retirement when their world is turned upside down and they are suddenly left to raise their grandchildren.
