The very first trailer for "The Fantastic Four" is made available for viewing pleasure online ahead of the upcoming August 7 release. Emotions run high as a teleport experiment goes terribly wrong and a shocking transformation happens. A glimpse at a hard-rock figure and a flaming human is flashed on screen.
"Human beings have an immeasurable desire to discover, to invent, to build. Our future depends on us furthering these ideals, a responsibility that rests on the shoulders of generations to come. But with very new discovery, there is risk, there is sacrifice, and there are consequences," an ominous voiceover says, before another voice warns, "Be ready for what's coming."
Simon Kinberg ("X-Men") writes the script, while Josh Trank ("Chronicle") serves behind the lens. "Chronicle" star Michael B. Jordan is cast as Johnny Storm or Human Torch, Miles Teller as Reed Richards or Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Sue Storm a.k.a. Invisible Woman, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm or The Thing, and Toby Kebbell as the villainous Doctor Doom.
A new adaptation of Marvel's First Family, it centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. As their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
