The high school reunion comedy starring Black, James Marsden and Kathryn Hahn among others lands at IFC Films with $3 million.

AceShowbiz - "The D-Train", a high school reunion comedy starring Jack Black, has landed at IFC Films following its premiere at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. IFC Films has acquired U.S. rights for the movie directed by Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel with $3 million.
"Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel prove with this film that they have arrived as one of the great new filmmaking teams in Hollywood. They have crafted a smart, sensitive and hilarious film which features a terrific ensemble, led by the immense talent of Jack Black and James Marsden," Jonathan Sehring, president of Sundance Selects/IFC Films, said of the movie, as reported by TheWrap. "Our team fell in love with this film and we are planning to put the full weight of the studio behind it with the goal of rolling the film out in theaters across the country."
"The D Train" tells the story of an enthusiastic high school reunion head committee named Dan Landsman (Black) who wants to get rid of the loser tag. He vows to bring the most famous former classmate Oliver Lawless (Marsden), a struggling actor who stars in commercials, to attend the reunion. Black then sneaks into Hollywood, risking relationships with his wife and colleagues as he tries to complete the mission.
In addition to Black and Marsden, the comedy stars Kathryn Hahn, Kyle Bornheimer, Mike White, Jeffrey Tambor and Denise Williamson among others. It is produced by David Bernad, White, Black, Priyanka Mattoo, Ben Latham-Jones and Barnaby Thompson.
