Zachary Quinto Rules Out 'Heroes' Return
TV

The 'Star Trek' actor supports the 'Heroes' miniseries project, but he 'just felt like [he] need to cultivate other outlets for myself.'

Zachary Quinto has buried fans' hope for his return to the forthcoming "Heroes Reborn". Speaking to BuzzFeed at the Sundance Film Festival, he gave a negative answer when asked about whether or not he would reprise his "Heroes" role for the miniseries project.

"No, I'm not going to go back," he said. "I talked to them about it, and Tim [Kring, series creator] reached out to me when they decided they were going to do it. We had a great conversation. It was such as meaningful experience for men - I loved that job, I loved those people. ... I just felt like I didn't want to go back to it."

He continued, "Tim was very, very understanding, Tim Kring. He was very understanding and supportive. I'm thrilled that they're doing it, I'm thrilled that Jack Coleman is going back to it. And I know that they just cast Zach Levi, which is great. I mean, it's a great thing to be a part of." Explaining why he made such decision, the former Sylar depicter on the sci-fi drama said, "I just felt like I need to cultivate other outlets for myself."

Jack Coleman is the only original cast member who has signed up for the 13-episode miniseries so far. He will reprise his role as Noah Bennett a.k.a. HRG (the Man in the Horn-Rimmed Glasses). "Chuck" alum Zachary Levi, meanwhile, is cast to play a new key role.

Other details of the project, including the plot, are still kept under wraps. The show is slated to premiere in summer this year.
