Kelly Clarkson's comeback single "Heartbeat Song" is finally out. After being previewed in a cute teaser starring the singer's daughter River Rose, the track was released on iTunes on Monday, January 12 at midnight.

"Heartbeat Song" is a radio-friendly, upbeat pop/rock song that has the potential to be a hit. Clarkson showcases her signature strong vocals as she sings the chorus, "This is my heartbeat song and I'm gonna play it/Been so long, I forgot how to turn it up, up, up, up all night long."

The song was penned by Clarkson along with Kara DioGuardi and Jason Evigan. It serves as the first offering off the former "American Idol" winner's yet-to-be-titled new album that's scheduled to come out later this year.

Clarkson recently revealed on Twitter what to expect from the new project, which marks her first non-holiday full-length since 2011's "Stronger". "My next album is pop. But I am always influenced by music I love, which is pop- rock/country/r&b/dance #whoknowswhatsnext," she said.

She also revealed the album would include a collaboration with a fellow musician she refused to name, adding, "Oh and people also keep asking about the duet on the record. Here's a hint ....this wasn't our first time to sing together."
