Both Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard shrug off and lightheartedly respond to the copycat accusation made by hip-hop star.

AceShowbiz - Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard are aware of 50 Cent's criticism of their new show "Empire". They have responded to the rap star after he slammed their FOX series which has similar premise to his Starz show "Power" and accused Lee Daniels and his team of being a copycat.
"Empire VS. Power LADIES what's up you be the judge," he tweeted in December. He also wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post, "POWER Season 2 is unbelievably good trust me. I have the best writers and show runner. I like Terrence Howard and Taraji Henson. I don't like that they would copy the marketing."
"50 Cent is a comedian," Henson told The Wrap. "He loves to push buttons. He's a funny guy. I never took offense to it. If anything, I thought he was trying to get [a] jab at him." She jokingly added, "You know, he's jealous of Terrence, his looks. Terrence is light-skinned, he's dark-skinned, you know, come on people."
The actress also cracked a joke on Twitter. "I pay attention to $'s [dollars] NOT cents?" she wrote when one of her followers asked about Fiddy's remarks. The rapper replied with an Instagram video in which he called her a "fine motherf**ker." He added a caption, "@tarajiphenson don't be mad at me. I love your work girl."
Howard also chose to shrug off the criticism. "Fifty is my monster man. We served jail time together in his film, you know, we've been naked together," he said, referring to their work together in 2005's movie "Get Rich or Die Tryin' ".
"I love the fact that we're both pushing the envelope with our shows and what it says about cinema and television, how the change has occurred to where black men can be on opposing levels, because we're both telling a similar story," he went on. "So it's kinda great. I'm proud of him - very proud of him."
