Reba McEntire is finally back with new music. The veteran country singer released on Tuesday, January 6 her new single "Going Out Like That", an empowering track on which she sings about a girl who puts on her sexy dress and goes out for a party instead of "sitting home and crying" after breaking up with her boyfriend.

Produced by McEntire's frequent collaborator Tony Brown, the song was originally written by Rhett Akins, Ben Hayslip and Jason Sellers with a male performer in mind. "When you listen to thousands of songs trying to find just the right one to record, a really great song jumps out at you. That's exactly what 'Going Out Like That' did to me," the singer said on Instagram. "It jumped out because it's a great song with up-tempo sassiness!!!"

"The first time I heard it, a man was singing the demo. When I sang it coming from a female perspective, it became a woman's power anthem. Sure hope you like it," she added.

"Going Out Like That" is the lead cut off McEntire's upcoming 27th studio effort. Reportedly titled "Icon", it's due out in April via Big Machine's Nash Icon Music. After putting out the album, the singer will join pals Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn for a Las Vegas residency at the legendary Caesars Palace.
