A few days after it was revealed that the 'Luther' actor's name was mentioned in a Sony exec's whish list as the next Bond, the popular radio personality expresses his disagreement.

Rush Limbaugh is against the idea that Idris Elba might be the next James Bond. In a December 23 episode of his "Limbaugh Show", Limbaugh shared his thoughts to his listeners, saying that the British actor who is black can't take position due to his race.

"James Bond is a total concept put together by Ian Fleming. He was white and Scottish. Period. That is who James Bond is, was," Limbaugh said in an audio posted by MediaMatters. "But now Sony is suggesting that the next James Bond should be Idris Elba, a black Britain, rather than a white from Scotland. But that's not who James Bond is and I know it's racist to probably point this out."

After talking about Bond's roots, he then compared the casting, imagining that it's like George Clooney and Kate Hudson playing President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. "Sometimes, a story is just a story. But we can always make it better. We can always be more fair. We can always be more equal about it. So, fine and dandy. George Clooney and Kate Hudson as Barack and Michelle Obama, and you can have Idris Elba as James Bond," he concluded.

A few days ago, an email exchange on January 4 between Sony's co-chairman Amy Pascal and former executive vice president of production for Columbia Pictures Elizabeth Cantillon surfaced online following a cyber attack targeting Sony Pictures Entertainment. In the email, Pascal told Cantillon, "Idris should be the next bond."

The 24th Bond movie "Spectre" is currently filming. The current Bond depicter Daniel Craig is signed for one more flick after the movie set for November 6, 2015 release.
