According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fuch is now in negotiations to work with director Michelle MacLaren on the script. Warner has no comment on the news.

MacLaren is known for her works such as "Game of Thrones", "The Walking Dead" and "Breaking Bad". The studio previously was reported to have been eyeing female directors although they were also open to male filmmakers.

Gal Gadot is set for the titular role. She will be introduced in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" which is due out on March 25, 2016 before getting her standalone movie which is scheduled for release on June 23, 2017.
