Joan Collins revealed a shocking truth that she was raped at 17. The 81-year-old actress opened up about the ordeal in a new documentary, titled "Brave New World", which focuses on the rape case of former Israeli beauty queen named Linor Abargil.

Collins claimed she "was raped when I was 17 years old" by older Irish actor Maxwell Reed who later became her husband. She was at that time an up and coming actress who had just been signed to Rank film studios and happened to be a virgin.

Collins said Reed asked her out, showed her pornographic magazines and gave her drink. "The next thing I knew, I was out flat on the sofa in that living room and he was raping me," she recalled. "And what he had given me was a drug. He had drugged my drink. It wasn't my fault but I didn't know, I went out with him."

Collins later kept going out with the actor before eventually marrying him for four years. "Well I better [marry him] because you know, he took my virginity," she said. "I really hated him, but I was so filled with guilt, that he had done this thing to me." She added, "It took a long time to be able to really trust any man."

Collins went on divorcing Reed and married five more times. She has been married to her last spouse, Percy Gibson, since 2002. She revealed the rape for the first time in her autobiography.
